Advanced Capture with Multisim
Transforming a design from scribbles on a napkin to an organized and professional schematic is a vital step in any electronics design process, and the need for a productive yet powerful capture tool is critical. As any circuit designer can attest to, time is a valuable commodity, and is better spent on important design work rather than learning the idiosyncrasies of a difficult-to-master capture program.

Multisim  is a professional schematic capture and circuit simulation package that has focused on providing powerful design features that integrate seamlessly into the application design flow. This intuitive environment helps any engineer to easily, successfully and quickly complete their designs. In projects of any complexity, Multisim’s advanced capture provides benefits by offering intuitive tools at all levels of schematic capture: from the fundamentals of placement and wiring, to the advanced features of project management and communication.

How to Forward Annotate from Multisim to Ultiboard
The integration of Multisim with Ultiboard ensures a seamless transfer of information between schematic and PCB layout. Once a Multisim netlist has been transferred to a corresponding Ultiboard PCB for layout, it is important that any changes made to either the schematic or layout be reflected across the entire design. Forward annotation is the process of sending schematic changes to a corresponding PCB layout. Multisim automates the process of forward annotation.

How to Back Annotate from Ultiboard to Multisim
When an electronic circuit has been fully drawn or captured, it is transferred to a PCB layout program such as Ultiboard. Often during the PCB layout process, additional components and/or nets are added such as mounting holes, or test points. Back annotation is the process of sending PCB layout changes to its corresponding schematic. Ultiboard automates the process of back annotation with a few clicks of the mouse.
